- What is the Cancellation policy? We would prefer for you to cancel your appointment 12 hours before your service. If you cancel less then 12 hours before your appointment you will be charged 25% of your service.
- What is your late policy? Please call to let us know if you are running late. If you are more than 10 minutes late and there is an appointment right after you we might not be able to complete all of your services.
- What kind of wax do you use? Berodin Blue Hard wax. The wax allows for fast, efficient waxing with gentle results. This stripless wax is formulated with revolutionary polymers for flexibility. This allows us to apply the wax in multiple sections without the fear of breaking. The wax adheres firmly to fine and coarse hair without sticking to skin and is heated at a low temperature to minimize irritation. So gentle yet effective, you will notice the difference.
- Can I get waxed if I am pregnant? Waxing is completely safe during pregnancy. If you have any concerns, please contact your doctor before your visit.
- What if I am taking medications? Certain medications you must stop prior to waxing. 1 year prior to waxing you must stop using Accutane. 3 months prior to waxing you must stop using: Adapalene, Alustra, Avita, Differin, Duac, Epiduo, Isotretinoin, Renova, Retin A, Tazarac, Tazarotene, Tretinoin and Ziana. There are certain acne medications that should be used with caution when waxing: Alpha Hydroxy Acids (Glycolic, Lactic), Oral and Topical Antibiotics, Salicylic Acids, Facial Exfoliants. Moral of this story: if you are using any prescription skin medications please be sure to inform your esthetician before receiving a wax!
- How long does my hair need to be? Please make sure your hair is 1/4" long (we say that is about a grain of rice). If your hair is longer, we will gladly trim it for you before your wax.
- How old do I have to be to get waxed? I will wax anyone age 10+. If you are under 18, you must have a parent/guardian sign a release to approve the treatments. This form will be filed for future appointments.
- Can I get waxed if I begin my period before my appointment? Yes of course! We highly recommend scheduling your treatment for the week after your menstruation if possible. It's best not to schedule waxing while you are menstruating because you will likely experience more discomfort. If the timing is off, we just ask that you wear a clean tampon. We do offer fresh wipes and feminine care items in the salon and are glad to accommodate you.
- What is a Brazilian? A Brazilian wax removes hair from just below the belly button around to your tailbone. You may chose to take it all off, or to leave a shape or landing strip on the front. Please be specific with your esthetician about what you would like.
- Does waxing hurt? There is a level of discomfort associated with waxing, but I promise to remove your hair as painlessly as possible. You are in the hands of an experienced esthetician and the process is only minimally painful. You can also take a low does of ibuprofen 20-30 minutes before your treatment. Waxing regularly will decrease your discomfort.
The best way to prevent ingrown hair: exfoliate!
Regular exfoliation (once or twice a week) will help reduce the build up of dead skin and minimize the occurrence of those pesky ingrown hairs. You may choose a loofah, body scrub, or for for extra convince you can use my Tu'el Body Polishing Kit.

The best way to treat ingrown hair
If an ingrown hair has formed, gentle exfoliation will help release the trapped hair. If the area has become red and irritated, a topical solution like my Blemish Control Gel is a light weight gel specifically designed to control blemishes from waxing. Organic Sulfur targets breakouts, while Allantoin promotes cell regeneration to jump start the skins healing process. Lemon is a natural astringent that conditions, tones and helps prevent new break outs.
*Ingrown hair should not be confused with folliculitis, an infection of the hair follicle. If you suspect you have an infection, seek medical advice as soon as possible.
